  1. DNA – the material carrier of hereditary information in a cell. Methods of DNA extraction, evaluation of its amount and purity.
  2. Modern methods of evaluating the structure of genes: polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction analysis, gel electrophoresis.
  3. How do genes work? Expression of genes. Isolation of total RNA, evaluation of purity and concentration.
  4. Modern methods of evaluation of genes: estimation of the level of RNA expression by PCR in real time.
  5. What is an epigenetic: methylation of DNA. DNA isolation and bisulfite conversion for DNA methylation analysis.
  6. Epigenetics: acetylation of histones. Isolation of chromatin for the analysis of acetylation of histones.
  7. What is the result of the work of genes in cells? Protein structure, synthesis, folding, transport. Isolation of proteins, electrophoresis, immunofluorescence detection methods.
  8. Systems of destruction of proteins in cells: the role of proteasome and lysosomes. Determination of activity of proteasome.
